Introduction

Welcome to the Mogadishu University Center for Crisis and Disaster Management (CDM Center), where our mission is to enhance community resilience and promote effective disaster response strategies tailored to Somalia’s unique context. CDM Center is commitment to proactive disaster management, community engagement, and sustainable development.

Community Services

Community Engagement and Awareness Campaigns:

Social awareness campaigns often involve community engagement activities to foster a sense of responsibility and collective action. The CDM center organize community meetings, discussions, awareness events where experts can interact with the public, answer questions, and address concerns related to crisis and disaster management.

These activities aim to engage the public, facilitate dialogue, build trust, and encourage individuals to actively participate in preparedness efforts.

Education and Training Programs:

The CDM center develops and offer educational programs (High Diploma and Master), and training sessions related to crisis and disaster management. These programs target individuals in various sectors, including emergency responders, government officials, community leaders, and the general public. This can include training on first aid, search and rescue techniques, and disaster communication. The aim would be to enhance knowledge and skills in preparedness, response, and recovery.

Research and Analysis:

The CDM Center would likely conduct research on various aspects of crisis and disaster management. This could involve studying past events, analyzing response strategies, evaluating the effectiveness of different approaches, identifying best practices, publish evidence based reports and articles. The findings from research could inform policy development and improve the overall understanding of crisis and disaster management.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

The CDM Center may collaborate with other research institutions, universities, government agencies, and international organizations working in the field of crisis and disaster management. Such collaborations could involve joint research projects, sharing of expertise, and participation in conferences and workshops.
